Every time I try to post a reply, I get the box to write in, then it flashes to a blank white page and then back to the box again, and this goes back and forth and won't stop so I can't write anything!  I'm surprised it's letting me post this as new topic, though.

Posting from the office... *cough* (7:30 pm here, bad enough that I'm still at the office... given how mean they've been to me  )
I am actually suspecting the internet provider in that case. Brenad, are you using AOL? Might be a problem with the IP Adress. We've had that for a while, too. It's just an idea, though. I'll look into it as soon as I am back at home where I have a proper internet connection... Likely not before Thursday!

That's OK, Sandra, it could be my hard drive which is old. I bought an external one, and one day I'm going to install it!  And I don't use AOL. I have a Mac G4 and am using the Classic OS9.2 system so I have to upgrade. The browser I'm using is iCab, from Germany. It's about the only one that will serve OS 9.

Hmmm, Scully the Cat can always be blamed...
I don't think it'S the harddrive. Symptoms don't fit. From your IP I can see you have Level3 as Internet provider...
Have you had trouble like that before withthis forum? I know we used to have exactly this problem a few years ago after the major upgrade. Haven't had any major updates since then, though. I'm back home now (as you can see since I'm typing this in the middle of the night), so I'm going to look into it tomorrow.
So, again, have you had this before? And have you used this browser before on this board? Is anyone else having this problem?
THat's all for now. I'm half asleep already.....

Just in case you are trying to log in next time and it tells you that you're banned.... There's some weird bug in the code right now. I cannot find the problem..... Hmmmm Been looking allover the place and even asking the people at phpBB. It's soooo strange. Oh well. Just so you know.

No, the banning was actually what somehow could happen to NIcole because of that "glitch" ... *cough*
I see two possibilities in this: One is cookies. (no, not chocolate chip, but data). Scroll down to the bottom of the board and you'll find a link saying "remove cookies set by this forum". Click it. Then restart your browser. You'll have to log in here again. Check whether you can post!
Two: an issue with javascript or something like that in your browser. This is definitely not a hardware issue of your Mac. That'S a software problem. The culprit is the browser. However, this board has existed since 2002 and the software hasn't had a major change. So if you have been using this computer AND this browser since then, it must be something we can fix.
Still, think about a new computer!
Let me know whether the cookie cleaning helped.

Thanks for the tips, Sandra. I read them just before going to bed so didn't get a chance to mess with my cookies. And I have had problems with some sites, where they're running slow and a box will come up saying something about JavaScript is running slow, do you want to Abort, Abort All or Cancel. I usually hit Abort and then it starts running again. Don't know how to fix that. Could that be the problem? But the flashing back and forth here is quite fast! Anyway, I'll try the cookie thing when I get home tonight. And we all know Nicole is shaking in her boots!
